Textile Tales: Reflective Writing - Summer Project "A Sense of Place"

was

resistant to beginning.

It had been a difficult year emotionally.

I needed time to heal.

‘A Sense of Place’ was too personal to contemplate.

After failed attempts to begin I put pen to paper.

On completion I was surprised by my strong affinity for the north-east of England, specifically the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne and Northumberland.

Reviewing, the project is a personal view of me – my passion for space and earth to my back garden.

I became more focussed on the respect I have for green plants that share the space I call home.
